Pride Lafayette is currently offering a Research Internship and a Marketing Internship in the spring, summer, and fall terms. Interns are expected to commit to 10 hours a week for 10 weeks. Internships come with a weekly stipend.

RESEARCH INTERN JOB DESCRIPTION
Details
The Pride Lafayette Research Intern will be an integral part of the organization’s new LGBTQ+ Health Equity Project.
Internship Length: 10 weeks (flexible start and end dates)
Time Commitment: 10 hours/week
Location: Hybrid (Pride Center + Remote)
Stipend: $2,000 ($20/hour)
Availability: Spring, Summer, and Fall positions available
Tasks:
The organization currently maintains an online Community Directory (last updated in Spring 2020) listing LGBTQ+-owned/operated/affirming/safe businesses and medical providers. The Research Intern will be responsible:
- Developing a matrix to evaluate businesses
- Reconfirming all existing entries and removing entries that are no longer operational or deemed appropriate for inclusion
- Researching LGBTQ+-identified and affirming health care providers (with emphasis on those providers and entities providing care for trans and gender nonconforming individuals)
- Finalizing spreadsheet for upload to Pride Lafayette website
- Developing print collateral related to health care providers
- Other duties as assigned
Skills:
Applicants should be familiar or have proficiency with:
- Microsoft Office Suite (especially Word and Excel – PowerPoint helpful)
- Google Drive/Google Apps (Gmail, Docs, and Sheets)
- Canva (helpful but not required)
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite helpful but not required

MARKETING INTERN JOB DESCRIPTION

The Pride Lafayette Marketing Intern will be an integral part of the organization’s new LGBTQ+ Health Equity Project as well as helping to strengthen existing marketing efforts.
Internship Length: 10 weeks (flexible start and end dates)
Time Commitment: 10 hours/week

Tasks:
The Marketing Intern will be responsible for:
- Developing and maintaining social media calendar matrix to evaluate businesses
- Designing and curating content for Pride Lafayette’s social media channels.
- Exploring and recommending additional social media outreaches
- Assisting with the marketing of the LGBTQ+ Health Equity Project, and, as appropriate, Rainbow Gala, Second Chance Prom, OUTFest, and other Pride Lafayette events occurring during the internship period.
- Other duties as assigned
