PFLAG: Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays
PFLAG promotes the health and well-being of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender persons, their families and friends through: support, to cope with an adverse society; education, to enlighten an ill-informed public; and advocacy, to end discrimination and to secure equal civil rights. Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays provides opportunity for dialogue about sexual orientation and gender identity, and acts to create a society that is healthy and respectful of human diversity. We have our own chapter right here in the Lafayette area. PFLAG Lafayette/Tippecanoe County meets on the 1st Thursday of every month.
The local chapter is one of the three sponsoring organizations for the PRYSM youth group. See the Youth Group link of this web site for more information about PRYSM.

Tippecanoe County Ally Network
Our community is on a continuous path to becoming more welcoming and inclusive to all citizens. With this effort there is an ongoing need to lift the awareness of our local workforce, government leaders, non-profit volunteers, faith communities, friends, and family members regarding the topics of sexual orientation and gender identity.
Recently, a partnership of local organizations and individuals was formed to address this need. Founding partners in the Tippecanoe County Ally Network include Pride Lafayette , Citizens for Civil Rights, PFLAG , and the ALLY Association (a Purdue student organization). We would like to invite other organizations and individuals to join us in our mission to enhance awareness, foster understanding, and ensure the safety of people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and intersex.
Our vision is focused on a series of training seminars covering a variety of topics. Each partnering organization will be contributing their special skills and expertise in conducting one or more of the seminars. This unprecedented partnership will strengthen our ties while also engaging the greater community in order to improve the quality of life for everyone.
Your support may be given in one of several ways: 1) organizational or individual commitment to assist with planning/conducting training sessions, 2) organizational or individual monetary support, 3) participation in and completion of the training program.
Please use our contact form to send a request for more information on the program or to express interest in assisting with the planning.
